Many of you may be wondering what we’re doing during our eight weeks here. I thought “what could we possibly have to cover in our training that would take eight weeks?” “Surely we must have a lot of free time…”, boy, was I mistaken!! Below is a description of what a typical day in the life of a missionary in training might be like:
7am - 8am Breakfast (which means if you’re going to get ready for the day and have quiet time, you better get up at 5:30 or 6am)
8am - 9am Group Talk (we are all reading thru Acts (one chapter per day) and we get together to discuss it)
9am - 12pm Discipleship class (Doctrines, Spiritual Warfare, Anthropology, etc.)
12pm - 1pm Lunch
1pm - 3pm Misc class (Learning about other Worldviews, Payroll & Taxes, Teambuilding, etc.)
3pm – 5pm Personal Application Time
5pm – 6pm Dinner (Didn’t we just eat lunch?)
6pm – 8pm Extracurricular Activities (Aerobics, Quilting, PowerPoint class, etc.)
8pm – 10pm Study Spanish
We have most Saturdays free, but we use those to catch up on laundry and sleep!! On Sunday we have worship time in our small group (Team Mexico) from 10:30am to noon, then, we’re free until 6pm when we have Cultural Worship. Read more about Cultural Worship in a future post!
